This is the first of the Utah County Birders Contests I (Robin Tuck) sponsored.
The intent was to get birders out birding together to improve their skills. I
believe it worked.
The 1996 contest rules were printed on an "Official" birding checklist on
legal sized paper. Note that the rules are on the last panel, which becomes
the top panel when the checklist is folded.

1896-1996 Centennial Contest

Contest covers Jan 1, 1996 to Dec 31, 1996
Count all birds personnally seen and positively identified in Utah County or in Utah State. Winners will have counted 200 bird species in Utah, 150 of which will have been seen in Utah County. All sightings will be recorded and initialled as they occur on this form. Winners will be recognized at the January 1997 Utah County Birder meeting and will receive a special Utah County Birders patch. Winners will notify Robin Tuck (contest judge) at 555-1212 and will submit a copy of this form for verification when they have met the goal. The decision of the contest judge will be final.

The award for completing the contest was a Utah County Birders patch with '200' embroidered on it.
Note that the contest is a 'Centennial' contest because 1996 is the Centennial year for Utah statehood.
